Nothing Is Unclean

As The Bible indicates in Romans 14, nothing is unclean. Indeed, nothing can be unclean if it is believed that God created all things and that without Him nothing was made that was made as stated in John 1. What makes something unclean, or forbidden is discovered on a very personal level. That is, it is in the establishment of God within the soul of the person and the convictions of the Holy Spirit along with the desires of the person which decides whether a thing is Holy or not. These things cannot be passed from one person to another for all people have a calling different from their sisters and brothers. And having Jesus in one's heart is important because these things are based on, not a list of rules, but an honest and living relationship which grows and flourishes over time.
And a relationship with God is not just about God telling you what to do and when and how. There are indeed times when God will tell you no, or to go, or the like. There are also times when you will just seek to do something just because you desire it. With God in your heart it is a collaboration and not a dictatorship. God will tell you if a thing should not be done, essentially keeping you away from the ledge. There may even be times when God says ‘no’ as to how you plan to do a thing. What is key is that you learn to ask God questions in honesty so that you can recognize where the precision and answers lie.

One person should not tell another what is clean or unclean for them, they do not know. No one can know. The prompting of your heart are your own and none have access to them. So, a thing that is good for your friends may not be good for yourself. Likewise, a person cannot be judged by what she or he eats or doesn't, for it is wholly in context with their own trust in God.
As is also indicated in Romans 14, whatever you are doing, you must do in context with your relationship with God. If it is done outside of the context with your active relationship with God it is counted as a sin against you. It is a sin because the great sin of our time and our forefathers is that we do not believe God. We have sought to do our own thing and since God is not present in our hearts we are neither covered by the blood of Jesus nor can the things we do serve to work out for good.
This is an impossible concept to understand with human thinking, but I assure you it is true. The desirable place to be in life is at peace, where you can walk comfortably with God, and if God prompts you to get that insurance policy, you may ask questions but hopefully you get that policy. What if you think that the policy is a good idea and think to yourself that you wish to obtain it. If you have an active relationship with God, go and get it, but if the Spirit prompts you to go but refrain from buying it, listen to the prompts. If there is no prompting at all, buy the policy in all security. For all things are available to you, unless specifically told not so.
God's ‘not so’ is not meant to dampen your joy, it is meant to protect you from the unforeseen. Thus a living relationship with God is key, because you will learn to dialogue with God and ask why, or when or any matter of things and you will definitely receive answers. Until now, when I receive those answers, I remain astounded. Unforeseen things that can do you harm in many different ways will be avoided if you learn to walk and talk with Jesus.
Sometimes you will hate a thing that you must endure. Feel free to tell God so, THEY already know anyway. God will, however, show you why it was necessary in due time if you are at all curious. Know that these things are far and few between but they do exist and they are indeed painful. It is not to hurt or attack you. Instead, I have learned and now know, that it is to rid you from the stench of the world and unbelief or something of that nature. I have even seen a thing coming and vehemently told God that I did not want it, and it passed me by. God is not a controlling dictator. God is a wonderful friend and all knowing, protecting God who will teach you things if you so desire.
So, as Paul says, don’t let anyone judge you or make you feel bad about who you are and what you desire to do. It is between you and God. However, make sure that it is indeed between you and God. For if you try to be honest with yourself and you do so without a relationship with God you expose yourself to the dangers of humans. In the world of humans, everyone is dangerous and you can easily be destroyed or cut down or made to conform. It is God who will keep you pure and non-conforming and who will allow you to be free. And it is God and God alone who will be your protection on every side and who will raise up a standard against the enemy. Except you must have that relationship with God, there are no two ways about it. It is either the horrific way of man, or the peaceful way of Jesus.
