Nowadays, people make professions out of everything! Some people may think this is absolutely ridiculous, but if you are anything like me, you'll realize that it's actually fantastic! Why, you may ask? Well, mainly because it shows the world that you don't have to be a Doctor or Lawyer or Teacher or Engineer to be successful. It means you can, quite literally, be whoever you want to be.

We have all, perhaps, read this quote somewhere, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." This is who we all are, different. We each have our own capacities to do our own things and excel at them. I even know people who excel at being a "Jack-of-all-trades". I bet you never thought that a Jack-of-all-trades could indeed be an asset, but let's imagine a scenario where a business is in a pinch and it needs someone to fill in a gap momentarily. The "Jack" is the perfect person to fit the need because s/he knows just enough to keep the operations going until a more permanent fix is found.

So, it's true, professions come in many shapes and sizes, and things we never would have thought of. And so it is with Life Coaching. It comes from a skill-set that certain people possess and excel at, which is what I just did in the second paragraph, help you realize potential, even when you think none exists. And, do not be confused, just like in all professions, there are good Life Coaches and there are bad ones; we all just have to learn to discern between the two.

Let's think of a Life Coach as a Sports Coach. Sports Coaches train you, push you and help you achieve those trophies and championship you visualize. And if those achievements have never crossed your interest, then your Sports Coach will help you discover and achieve your own personal goals, like running faster, jumping higher, perfecting your shot, throwing harder, etc. In order to help you achieve those goals, the coach may need to do research. But whatever the case may be, the coach will help you get to where you want to go.

So how is this relevant to life coaching? It's the exact same thing... sort of. Do you need help achieving your relationship goals? What about work goals? Considering my realm of expertise: do you have managerial or leadership goals? Perhaps, you would like to feel more comfortable with the sexuality that you discovered within yourself. Whatever life goals there are, a Life Coach can help you achieve it.

Now, not everyone needs a Life Coach. Some people need coaching in other areas of life, like finding their career, or investing in their finances. When you consider it, your whole life is full of coaching, for better or for worse. But in any case, there is never a reason to feel shy or embarrassed about approaching someone for help with your life. In fact, in my humble opinion, seeking out a Life Coach may help you advance much faster than others who refused to seek help, for obvious reasons. One reason, which I will point out anyway, is that, if you are willing to listen to the advice of someone who has "been there, done that" you may very well avoid the pitfalls that others are prone to fall into. This helps you completely circumvent unnecessary heartache, pain, frustration, etc. It doesn't imply that your life will be without struggle but it does mean you might be more ahead of the game than others and your actions will produce better fruits.

The last paragraph eluded to the fact that a coach should have "been there, done that". This is only generally true. I mean you are not going to hire a Basketball Coach who has never played a sport in her/his life right? However, someone who is awesome at American football may have the right coaching temperament to coach basketball or the know-how to coach soccer. What is important, in choosing the coach, then, is that the coach has some association with your situation and can help you visualize and ultimately achieve your objectives.

In a nutshell, Life Coaching is a true profession, mostly consisting of people who want nothing more than to see you succeed. Contact a Life Coach now, so you can open your eyes to the many possibilities of life.
